Coffee and Caffeine are miracles of nature and the morning drug of choice for people looking to power through the first few hours of the day.
However, what was once a health food has been destroyed by commercial coffee purveyors and turned into a hot morning desert. The addition of sugar, flavored syrups, milk and creamer are now a serious diet killer.

Aside from its obvious benefits as a stimulant, coffee is also a powerful superfood that contributes to our health in many other ways. Some studies even suggest that it may help with insulin sensitivity and reduce the risk of diabetes.
If you are one of the people who are slowly being poisoned by globo-coffee, try using some of the following suggestions for making healthier coffee.
3 Tips for Making Healthier Coffee
Healthier Coffee Tip #1: Stop Adding Cream and Sugar
This is number one on our list for obvious reasons. If you are adding garbage to your coffee, the easiest thing to do is stop.
Store bought creamers are loaded with sugar, chemicals and hydrogenated oils which are terrible for you and are loaded with calories.
Sugar also adds unnecessary calories and is bad for a whole host of obvious reasons; namely obesity and diabetes. If you need sweetener; try coconut sugar or Stevia instead.
Healthier Coffee Tip #2: Start Adding Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs)
If you want to give your coffee a creamy texture, but don't want all of the junk that comes with creamer, try adding in a tablespoon or two of MCT oils like coconut oil or palm oil.
MCT oils are calorie dense, so they will make you feel full all morning so you'll avoid snacking. They are also easily metabolized by the body, so they can not be stored as excess body fat.
If you like a little flavor in your coffee, try Onnit's Emulsified MCT Oil, which comes in multiple flavors.
Healthier Coffee Tip #3: Add a Teaspoon of Pine Pollen
Like adding MCT oil, Pine Pollen adds a piney and sweet flavor to the coffee so that it is a little less boring.
Pine Pollen also adds a bunch of micronutrients and a dash of phyto-androgens. We like to call it "Power Coffee" or "Testosterone Boosting Coffee" for that reason.
If you are currently using Pine Pollen Powder, we highly recommend you try our Power Coffee Recipe, which you can see by clicking here.
Drinking healthier coffee is a lot easier than it sounds. Most of us are married to our morning rituals and changing the way we drink our coffee is no easy task. However, drinking healthier coffee in the morning is one of the easiest health improvements anyone can make.
Next time you go to pour a cup of coffee, try adding MCT oil, Pine Pollen or drink it black to see how easy it is to upgrade your morning.
